George William Rupert Joseph Leech
Leech was born in 1894 in Islington the son of a dealer in china and glass. Leech was a painter and printmaker in London and served in France during World War I.
After initial study at Lambeth and Putney Schools of Art, won a three-year London County Council scholarship which enabled him to study at South Kensington. Worked for some years as a magazine art editor.
He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of painters in water-colours, Fine Art Society and the Royal West of England Academy. The Wandsworth Museum has his works.
