Lionel Ellis

Lionel Ellis ARCA (1903-1988) was an important twentieth-century painter, illustrator, engraver and teacher who specialised in portraits, as well as equestrian and floral subjects. He taught at Wimbledon School of Art between 1937 and 1968 and lived in Headley, Surrey. His work is held at the V&A Museum, the British Museum and provincial museums.
