Arthur Henry Tranter was a trained artist from Birmingham. He was an accomplished artist, illustrator and sculptor. Some of his more noted work is the artwork for travel advertising posters; clients included LNER and Southern Railway.
His artwork is a testament to his artistic ability; in 1937 he exhibited at the Autumn Exhibition, for the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. Tranter is listed as living at 5 Wheelwright Road, Gravelly Hill, Birmingham, England.
The early advertising posters he designed capture the era perfectly and are rare survivors as many were destroyed or are in Museums such as the Science Museum or National Railway Museum, England. Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.
