This is an original artwork for the British Railways Western Region poster, encouraging people to travel to the Pembrokeshire coast for their holidays.  The scene is a mix of nostalgic charm and natural beauty. The beach is wide, with soft golden sand stretching out towards the calm, shimmering sea. The waves gently lap the shore, and the sun shines brightly, casting a warm glow over the scene.

In the background, there are rugged cliffs, typical of Pembrokeshire’s coastline, with lush green grass at the top.

Families are enjoying a leisurely day at the beach, dressed in vintage mid century attire. Children build sandcastles with wooden buckets and spades, and some are rock-pooling.  This is a very evocative portrayal of the more typical family holidays from times now passed.
